(source : Tom Canning) Which building is this ? Jim Connelly writes (Sept 2008) : " This is the accommodation suite which was built on to the side of Broome Hall near to the kitchen and the courtyard. It was a new building in the late 50s / 60s and accommodated the novices, each having their own room with a plumbed-in hand sink. " Return to Top |
(source : Tom Canning) Broome Hall clock tower—or did you have another name for this feature? Is that a Ford Popular ? "Yes," says Tom: " it was the first car I had ever driven and on two occasions was almost the last. " (Most of the cars that we young'uns bought in those days were built in the thirties/forties ; they cost about £30, had a maximum speed of 35 mph and were painted black). Return to Top |
