A Christmas 2004 Thank You

Summer 2005 Update and Thank You

A Christmas Thank You
from Brother Trevor Robinson in Ghana
Christmas 2004

March this year marked a milestone in the brief history of the Wheelchair Project.  The 500th tricycle was collected by a crippled schoolboy from Yendi, a small town in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Requests are still coming in and by the end of the year we hope to have made over 600.

There has recently been a vaccination drive to immunize all the children against polio.  We hope that one day polio will be a back number here in Ghana and there will be less demand for our wheelchair tricycles. In the meantime we continue making our tricycles to give mobility and a better quality of life to those who need them.

In May we had a visit from Mr Rudi Wurzer from Austria, bringing more solar cookers.  These cookers have proved very successful and those using them realize the benefit of not having to use charcoal or firewood to cook their meals.

The cookers save the users a lot of money, the heat source is free and perhaps prevents a few precious trees being cut down.  Another 70 arrived in August and we are in the process of assembling them and getting them all distributed.

At this time of Christmas, I would like to take the opportunity, on behalf of those we are helping, to thank all our supporters.
You have made it possible for us to improve the lives of our disabled sisters and brothers in this part of Africa.

May God bless you all.

Wishing you all the joys and blessings of the Christmas season.

Trevor Robinson (Brother Trevor)
